New York - Going from the red carpet to the golden beach in New York

Looking for English? Scroll down a bit!

You never get bored in the big city. Certainly not in New York.

Last Sunday I went to see one of my favorite children's books come to life on stage. Roald Dalhl's mathilda. My seat was almost on top of the steep arranged balcony. It was so steep that another visitor suggested to instal safety belts, just to be sure no one tumbles down. But I loved the show and even with my cheqper 47 dollar ticket, I had an ok view on stage.
To complete my broadway experience, the TonyAwards were being held that evening. The american musical awards. For safety a few streets (or rather blocks, as they call them here) were closed off.

So, I had to walk a bit to get to the rockafeller center.I went around dinner time, which meant that there was close to no line at all to go up. After popping ears in the elevator,  my reward was a beautiful view of New York from above.
I ended my day at times square watching the live screening of the TonyAwards. A peek at all that broadway has to offer on shows.

All the tourist and city buzz somethimes is just a bit too much. That's why New York the city parks. Ranging from huge and classical such as Central Park to smaller and more modern like the High Line (an old subway line transferred into a green space). When temperatures get high in Summer, there is also an option to go to the beach. After about an hour from the city center on the subway you can dio your feet in the sea. On a cloudy but dry and warm day, I went to the famous Coney

Island. Rollercoasters, a ferries wheel and the celebrated hotdogs from Nathan's. They were all present along the boardwalk next to the beach.

From lively China Town I took a bus to philadelphia on Wednesday. 10 dollar, a broken down bus and about 3 hours later I arrived in one of the most historic cities in the USA. I'll be here until tuesday and you can read about what I've been up to then.
